Shall We?

Shall we?

P.s. I forgot to mention that I may have a new favorite lunch. Fresh bread, laughing cow cheese, and chili spice!

On the ride home we all discussed where we have been and where we are going. The two German girls and guy had been riding down the coast on motorbikes. I made a small comment in how I would love to do something like that. I didn't really put much thought into the comment. Another girl in the van speaks up and says how she does want to do that and has been looking for a bike. The German girl thinks for a second and says that she could sell her bike now and just get the bus for the last leg of the journey.

Without even thinking I blurt out "wait can I buy the other one?"

What did I just do?? Did I really just am to buy a motorbike. She looks and me and says yes. Ahhhhhhh seriously what am I thinking?!

We get back to the guesthouse and go to shower off. I am out of shampoo so I take a walk to the market with another guy. On the way we really start to notice we are not in backpacker central anymore. There are tourists but the number is significantly less than in Siagon and other southeast Asian countries. I love it! The town has charm about it and its streets are busy with people purchasing their daily goods.

When I get back I shower and think about my choice. Do I really want to do this. First Jenny convinces me yes I do want to do this. Vietnam is amazing she assures me how much ill love it. Plus if I hate it that much I ditch the bike and take the bus.

Another guy in the guesthouse named Jordan sways me the other way. He tells me the highway to hoi an is terrible and I don't want to go on that. He says it over and over. Ok now I'm torn.

Thrills find Morgan and I to teach us how to ride the bikes before we purchase them.

I get a look at the bikes. Omg this is no joke. These aren't automatic scooters. These are legit cool manual bikes. Manual bikes! Manual haha this is going to be interesting.

I watch Morgan first. She tries an she tries but stalls constantly. Tentative and very nervous I get on my bike. I listen to the directions on shifting it about twenty times before I even dare make a move. By this time the rest of the guest house is watching us. Our audience is laughing as Morgan comes around the corner and stalls out again. Whoops

I start off. Ok brake, shift, cutch, ummmmmm. Stall! This is harder than it looks. With a little practice I'm able to go up and down our street. Good enough! This is going to be an adventure.

I look at Morgan nervous that she isn't going to buy hers. No need to worry. With two giant grins on our face despite of lack of driving skills we make the deal! I now own a bike. I didn't rent a bike. I didn't hire a drive. I bought a bike!!!!!! I must be out of my mind. I guess I'll find out 1500 miles from now if I made the right choice!
